FAQ

1.Why do I need to make subscriptions at the start-up screen?
We believe that you know yourself best. Our role is to assist you to discover more and to pick the right choices. 4 views with different grouping are provided to ease selection:
a)Recommendation: list top five feeds in a category which is popular in your country from our study
b)Category: list feeds by category, which consists of 10 major and 100+ minor categories
c)Publisher: list feeds by publisher with search feature
d)Search: allow to input RSS URL
 
2.How do we organize your subscribed feeds to meet your different needs?
3 options available in the side menu, they are:
a)Publisher View: grouping feeds by publisher (default)
b)Category View: grouping feeds by label
c)Flat View: no grouping and list feeds by alphabetic order
Notes: You are free to modify both publisher and label names
 
3.How do we improve your browsing and reading behaviors?
Time is a treasure. Our mission is to facilitate you to read more with least time. By default, we show the latest, unread articles only and help you auto mark articles as read when they are scrolled through or opened for details. For saving data usage, we switch between website and RSS modes smartly based on the availability of both data and web cache when showing article in details. If you find an article interesting, you can share it with friends (tap "SHARE" button to interact with your communities, e.g. Facebook, Google+, LINE, Twitter, WhatsApp, etc) or keep it for record/reading later (tap the "STAR" icon to save it to "My Favorite", which is a common area under your control for storing your favorite articles). You are free to customize above behaviors at your own preference. The detail is as below:
a)Reading > Mark articles as read: control if auto mark an article as read or not when it was scrolled through, default "Yes"
b)Reading > Use ignored mode: control if auto mark read to other articles with the same title as the one read, default "Yes"
c)Reading > Show articles only marked as: control which states of articles to be shown - Fresh/Read/Skipped, default "Fresh"
d)Reading > Show web page when article opened: control if showing articles in website or RSS-feed mode, default "Automatic"
e)Reading > Sort articles by: control listing order of articles, default "Publish Date (newest on top)"
Notes: There are shortcuts on screen for item 3 and 4.
 
4.Do I need to update the feeds frequently? How much data does it take up when Wi-Fi not available?
The app is tuned to refresh feeds every 2 hours by default and data usage is proportional to the number of feeds subscribed, their refresh frequency and the number of web pages you visited. You are free to tune the following settings to suit your needs.
a)Sync > Sync when Wi-Fi connected: default "No"
b)Sync > Sync interval: default every 2 hours
c)Sync > Cache web pages for offline use: default "Yes"
d)Sync > Offline storage limit: default value depends on the size of the interval SDCard
e)Reading > Show website content when article opened: default "Yes"
